Standing strong

I have been thinking on our way of living.  We as Christians so many times misunderstand our place and purpose on this earth.  So let us start at the beginning and ask why we as humans were created in the first place?

“… everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.” (Isaiah 43:7 ESV)

God created man for His glory, and everything we do is for His glory. It does not matter if you are working in the corporate world, if you are a housewife, or whatever else you might be doing. You were created to glorify God. When we get prayers answered, or see miracles happen, it is not mainly for us this is happening, it is all to show off His glory to the world. Even Jesus Christ on the way to the cross confirmed this with His words,

“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.  Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”(John 12: 27-‬28 ESV.)

But we as humans are so self centered that we miss our whole purpose.  We have adapted to the world’s view on what success is.  That is why we are told to renew our minds. We need to get understanding on this issue and see it from God’s perspective.

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire”.(2 Peter 1:3‭-‬4 ESV)

Just listen to this scripture, it says we are partakers of the divine nature!  In 1 John 4:17  John writes, “As Jesus is, so are we in this world”.  This is almost to big to grasp!

That means we are living in Jesus, having the same authority as Jesus.  In Ephesians we read:

“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,  Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised him from the dead, and set him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,  Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:  And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church,  Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all”.(Ephesians 1:19‭-‬23 KJV)

This tells me we have authority with Jesus, we live in Him as He is the head and we are His body. This make us one with Him, sitting with Him in heavenly places, above all worldly power and principalities. Yes we do still live in this world and have to submit under authority on earth, but we are living from a totally different perspective in oneness with Jesus.

“For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit”.(1 Corinthians 12:13)

“And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus,” (EPHESIANS 2:6 AMP)

Does this change the way you see yourself and your purpose on earth. We need to meditate on this, because living from this perspective bring authority and bring you to a place where you rule over your circumstances and this will glorify God!

Lord God, I want to pray today that You will open our understanding of this topic, and by Your Holy Spirit help us to live in such a way that we rule on this earth with Jesus so that Your Name may be glorified. In Jesus Name, Amen.
